非 (hi)

Enigmatic Japanese artist named only (hi)'s work shows the fragile nature of humanity through hauntingly beautiful digital portraits. The viewer cant help being moved, as we gaze into the figures eyes so full of sadness and a desperate sense of pleading. The figurative paintings are mostly of young males that evoke a strong sense of loneliness, of wanting to communicate their internal pain but not being able to.

"The artist explains that “boys are more suitable to express loneliness as women are emotional and powerful.”  http://thecreatorsproject.com/blog/ethereal-digital-paintings-capture-the-look-of-loneliness
He/she captures the essence of teenage/young adult angst with beautiful technique, abstract elements and interesting colour choices that enhance the emotive nature of the work. I wonder as I gaze at these works what sort of torment the artist has experienced to express it with such intense passion here. The scars are so clearly evident in his/her deeply personal work.
