Kris Lewis

Perhaps the beautiful glances in Kris Lewis’s paintings are sourced from an attentiveness to his fellow man. An untold story is inscribed in each piece, journeys of which we only catch a snippet or glimpse. Kris' traditional paintings captivated me as soon as I saw them, the gaze of his subjects seems to pin the viewer as we search to describe what these vulnerable women are trying to convey. Hauntingly Beautiful emotive portraits with just a touch of the surreal in the distortion of the limbs.

Omar Galliani

Italian artist, Omar Galliani's chiaroscuro pencil, pastel and ink portraits of young women and a few young men, his subjects' faces are often overlaid with colorful tattoos that look like lightweight lace veils. Each piece shows the intricate connections between emotion, eroticism, graphic expression and meditation: they have a beatific, saintly glow. Beyond the flesh, Galliani seems to find the impulses of the mind itself, and many would say that that extraordinarily introspective quality of his work is even more exceptional than his technical mastery, which so ably highlights the movement in his subjects' faces and figures. http://www.artbook.com/8889431903.html

His work really evokes a feeling of the sublime, or emotional or spiritual transcendence. Such beautiful and deeply moving work.
